THE MESSIAH WAS GIVEN IN COOPERATION VVITH THE CHOIR OF PENN COLLEGE. OTHER SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC APPEARANCES INCLUDED THE GIVING OF THE EASTER ORATORIO, OLIVET TO CALVARY BY MAUNDER, AND MENDELSSOHN'S '4ELIJAH , THE SINGING OF WHICH WAS THE OUTSTANDING PROGRAM OF THE MAY MUSIC FESTIVAL. THIS WAS PRESENTED WITH THE ASSIS- TANCE OF THE CENTRAL METHODIST CHURCH CHOIR. A RADIO CHORUS COMPOSED OF A SMALL GROUP SELECT- ED FROM THE CHOIR GAVE CONCERTS FROM WOI, AMES. IOWA, AND WHO, DES MOINES. IOWA. UNDER THE DIRECTION OF SHIRLEY SAMPSON AND ROSS HALL. THE SUNDAY NIGHT CHOIR MADE UP OF VOLUNTEER MEMBERS OF THE REGULAR CHOIR I-IAS MADE AN APPRECI- ATED CONTRIBUTION TO THE SUNDAY NIGHT CHAPEL SER- VICES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

THEIR SUMMER'S WORK STARTS WITH A CAMP MEETING AT HOOPLE, NORTH DAKOTA, AFTER WHICH THEY WILL TOUR FROM COAST TO COAST, SPENDING CONSIDERABLE TIME IN THE PACIFIC STATES AND IN EASTERN CAMP MEETINGS. AL- TOGETHER, THEY EXPECT TO SING IN ABOUT THIRTY DIF- FERENT STATES BEFORE SCHOOL OPENS IN THE FALL. vamgel Quartet
