Career Clubs There are five cooperative educa- tion programs at V.H.S. These clubs are Distributive Education Clubs of America, Senior Diversified Coopera- tive Training, Junior Diversified Coop- erative Training, Work Experience, and CBE-Future Business Leaders of America. DECA had a very successful year. Troy Thomas and Bobby Det- weiler will be going to the National DECA Leadership Conference, which is the state finals. The officers this year for DECA were: President, Troy Thomas; Vice-President, Vicky Krolc- zyk; Treasurer, Jane Askins; Secre- tary, Susan Distasio; Reporter, Debbi Garman; Parliamentarian, Ron Par- rish; Historian, Ray Williams. Senior DCT started their first successful school store! Bill Martin and Jody Wil- liams went to the State Leadership Conference and did well. The officers this year were: President, Teresa Lem- ley; Vice-President, Bill Martin; Secre- tary, Naomi Bowie; Treasurer, Joe Whitehead. The Work Experience Club are our Future Business people. Jr. D.C.T. goes to school for half a day and then goes to work for the rest of the day. The CBE-FBLA had a great year! Many of the members placed at the District Competition. They were: First place; Tami Spurlock (Clerk Typ- ist II), Gloria Martko (Bus. Law), sec- ond place; April Acton (Bus. Comm.), fourth place; Heather Court (Econ.), fifth place; Diane Anderson (Job Int). The officers this year are: President, Holli Hoops; Vice-President, Susanna Horton; Treasurer, Heather Court; Secretary, Susan Albrecht; Historian, April Acton; Reporter, Carol Beard. Sr . Co-Ed Service L. i IMnr fii f Mfc i ' 1 k-{ Serteen is an active co-ed service club, sponsored by Sertoma. The 22 members of Serteen aide in school and community proiects. Club activi- ties involved projects such as: selling Homecoming Mums, holding their second annual Spring Jam, participat- ing in the March of Dimes Walk-A- Thon, helping Sertoma, their sponsor club in their projects, and also holding car washes and bake sales. They accomplished their main goal for the ' 79- ' 80 year which was to have a stronger club and larger membership.
