Honor Society The purpose of National Honor Society is to encourage the develop- ment of character and create an enthusiasm for scholarship, for stu- dents at Venice High School. Honor Society is comprised of hardworking people who have excelled academi- cally, as well as having shown leader- ship and service in their school and community life. During the year Honor Society successfully sold candy to raise money for the club. V.H.S. Newspaper The Li ' l Big Horn Staff works together as journalists, reporters, and photographers, to publish our school newspaper, under the guidance of Mr. Kopel. The newspaper is a monthly publication produced entirely by stu- dents in the |ournalism class. They cover school news events and commu- nity related events, including sports games, social activities, and editori- als. The ads from Venice businessmen provide funds so that teachers, and students can receive the paper free of charge. Cheers Hardworking, determined, smil- ing, yelling and jumping sums up our cheerleaders. These nine girls were responsible for the tremendous spirit that we showed at pep rallies and all our athletic events. The varsity cheer- leaders were led by senior Co-Cap- tains Vicky Hasley and Debbie Hutch- inson. Sponsor Miss Lyman and man- ager Carol Rieger were always there to lend a helping hand. By working hard over the summer at NCA Camp learn- ing new cheers, ways to get spirit in school and throughout the year, these cheerleaders kept up the tradition of pride and sportsmanship at V.H.S.
