SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In penning this record of our journey through high, Maryella Price and I, Janet Jenne, were stunned by the thought of GRADUATING this year! On the first day of September in l95H, we enrolled at Venice High School as Freshmen. The number in our class was forty-four In October Of that Same year we gave the Sophomores a Freshman-Sophomore Party in return for thefbpho- more-Freshman Party given us. Our officers were President Thomas Hormanng Vice-President, Lawrence Heagyg Secretary-Treasurer, Mary Catherine Kbelker, In September of 1955, it was back to school again, with the latest gossip and newest fads. Sadly enough, though, we found our number had decreased to thirty-five. we elected as our class officers: Jane Groshong as President, Tom Voegele as Vice-President, and Mary Catherine Koelker as Secretary-Treas- urer. During our second year in high school, the Student Council was first organized at our school. We chose two of our number to represent our class in the council. In addition the Venetian, our high school yearbook, was started. We chose as our class candidate for yearbook queen, Jessie Mitchell. Also, in October of 1955 we gave the Freshmen a Sophomore-Freshman Party. On August 31, l9565we returned to school as Juniors, now being considered as upper-classmen. Our number had slightly decreased to thirty-three. Our class officers for the year were President, Carolyn Mercer, Vice-President, Frank Cowley, Secretary Mary C. Kbelkerg Treasurer, Jane Groshongg Assistant- Treasurer, Carol Marshall. We elected Mary Catherine Kbdker and Carol ManmaD. as our Student Council representatives for our class. In October of that same year we presented a play entitled, UMeet Me At The Promu. Also in October, we chose Mary Catherine Koelker as our candidate for Miss Venetian. In May of 1957 we gave the Seniors a Prom held in the new gym of our high school. The theme for the prom was UMoonlight and Rosesn. In addition, Mary Catherine Koelker was elected by the students to be Student Council President in the school year of 1957-58. On August 30, 195Z'we arrived at Venice High as VMighty Seniorsn, who were all anxiously awaiting the day when we will march up the aide and receive our diplomas. Our number had sadly dissolved to twenty-seven. We chose as our class officers President Lawrence Heagyg Vice-President, Glenda warnhoff, and Secretary-Treasurer, Carol Marshall. We chose as our class representatives to the Student Council Jessie Mitchell and Donald Davinroy. Mary Catherine Koelker presided as Student Council President. In October we selected as our class candidate for Miss Venetian, Jane Ann Groshong. As a result of yearbook voting, Jane Ann was crowned Miss Venetian on December 5, 1957. In April we presented a Senior Class Play in order to raise funds for the Senior Trip. As all of these pleasant memories of our class come to our minds, we won- der what will happen to us in the future. We hope that luck, happiness and prosperity will come to us all.
