enior Gffass gastory The first Tuesday of September, 1952 , we meekly walked into Venice High School as Freshmen. The number in our class was twenty- nine. About October of that year, we gave the Sophomores a Freshman- Sophomore Party in return for the Sophomore -Freshman Party given us . Our officers were: President, Ronald Blatz: Vice-President, Lenora Ledbetter: Secretary, Rosemary Ponce: Treasurer, Bob Ponce, Sergeant at Arms , Tom Marcus . In September, 1953 , we grudgingly walked back into Venice High as Sophomores . Our number had decreased to twenty-four. Our officers were: President, Rogera Davis: Vice-President, Keith Kelly: Secretary, Rosalie Beyer: Treasurer, Carolyn Langston: Travel Fund Treasurer, Phyllis Vaught, Sergeant at Arms , Tom Marcus . We gave the Freshmen a Sophomore-Freshman Party. Later in the year, we staged a Sophomore Hop which was very successful. Also, during this year, we had a wild ambition to take a long trip when we graduated. To try to help gain this goal, we started collecting Travel Fund Dues from our class members . When September of 1954 arrived, we came back to school as Juniors . Our number now was nineteen. Our officers this year were: President, Rogera Davis: Vice-Pres- ident, Ada Carver: Secretary, Ronald Blatz: Treasurer, Carolyn Langston: 'Travel Fund Treasurer, Rosalie Beyer: Sergeant at Arms, Tom Marcus . In October, the Iuniors presented a play entitled, It's A Long Lane . Later on in the year, the Second Semester Iunior Speech Class gave a One-Act Play for an assembly program. The title was , Like Father, Like Son. On the first of September, 1956 , we came back to school looking forward to the end of our high school days. By this time, our number had sadly diminished to sixteen. Our officers were: President, Rosalie Beyer: Vice-President, Tom Marcus: Secretary-Treasurer, Ada Carver: Travel Fund Treasurer, Lenora Ledbetter: Sergeant at Arms , Earl Wamhoff.
