Sqn ires WINTER COMMANDER-BOB ARCHER The Esquires is a service organization spon- sored by Mr. Ibbetson for boys in the 10th and llth grades. You will see them Wearing maroon sweaters and slacks. They have done a fine job performing many serv- ices to the school. Some of them Were: a. Checking fire boxes during fire drills. b. Serve at certain functions. c. Perform their regular duties in helping to keep the campus clean. PREMIERE--SANDY KELLER The Chatelaines of Venice High School are organized to be of direct assistance in the promotion of unity among the students and in the promotion of high standards of service to the school, both as a group and as individuals. Their duties consist of ground duties and serving at banquets. faculty organization meetings, and work shops. They have outside social affairs which include parties for members of the Chatelaines only. and in conjunction with the other service groups. ln order to become a member, a girl must be voted in by the older members and approved by the faculty. The membership consists of 25 girls in the l0th and l lth grades, and there are always at least live girls from each of these grades. They also participate in pep rallies, special night assemblies tsuch as the Christmas program and band concert J. and at graduation. Numbered among their extra-curricular ae- tivities are parties and special get-togethers. Students in grades ranging from thc A-l0 through the A-ll are eligible for Ushers, and neophytes must be approved by the senior members. There is a constant membership of I8. The group is sponsored by Mr. Shepherd.
