em...I' ' 3' . j School year 1949-1950 found the newly organized Five-man Board of Education faced with the problem of E constructing a new building to house the rapidly increas- ing school population of V A Schools. With the guidance of Superintendent Sidney M. Van Deventer and planning of able members of the Board of Education the fourteen room structure is now becoming a reality. It will be one of the most modern, up-to-date school buildings in southern Oklahoma. Contracts call for completion in time for occupation when September, 1950 finds students ready to begin an- other year of educational growth. 2- 7' if 1 av ptincipai BURNEY H. BREWER Burney H. Brewer became Principal of the High School the first year the 135 square mile District No. 15 of Stephens County was organ- ized in 1946. Sidney M. Van Deventer, new Superintendent X of V A Schools took office .Tuly 1, 1949, and immediately began to organize and improve old facilities and plan greater quarters for the Personnel and Students. V A Board of Education consisting of five , citizens representing every section of the dis- trict, by careful planning assures VA student body the best educational opportunities.
