-11.1 ,A-,N 'Tl' VEGA is part of Servgru One, with her home port in the San Francisco Bay area, at Naval Air Station, Alameda. The ships mission is to deliver fresh, frozen and canned foods, to units of the Pacific Fleet wherever they may be. USS VEGA QAF-59y is the third ship of the U.S. Navy to bear the name of the brightest star in the sky. She was built by the Ingalls Ship Building Corporation in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1955. All of her active service has been with the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Everyone should be justly proud in their own contributions, for without the dedication to duty and the many long hours provided by everyone on board, the successful completion of VEGA'S mis- sion could not have been accomplished.
