Our Annual- Planning for an annual for the school year 1952-1953 presented several new problems. In 1952 we became the Veedersburg.Van Buren School Corporation through consolidation. We now have four schools, Stone Bluff, Sterling, Veedersburg Elementary, and Veedersburg High School. We are indeed happy to be able to look forward to all the opportun- ities the reorganization may provide. Two major changes in regard to the annual have resulted. First, we felt it necessary that the annual be truly representative of ALL the schools, that the value of the annual would be increased by bringing within its pages as much as possible of the activities and personalities of all the schools. Second, we wanted to deepen the organization of the annual staff. It was so organized that upper classmen headed the various staff positions, and lower classmen make up the bulk of other assignments. Thus we can look forward to an experienced staff for next year. up .. In this book are many things which shall compound in interests as the years go by. So little time we spend togetherg so rich the time if used well, so glorious the memories stored here for future years. -BERT HODGE, Superintendent.

Standing-Dennis Manning, Philo Wildman, Carolyn Pickett, Gerald Keel- ling, Dale Cushman, Donald Payton, Carl Dismore, Charlotte Han- cock, Dallas Ponder. A Action taken by the studentbody of Veedersburg High School in the Fall of 1952 resulted in the election of a Student Council composed of four officers elected by the student body and ten representatives from classes 7-12. Mr. Hodge and Mr. Elrod were sponsors of the Council. The Council is not at present a governing body . Its purpose, as stated in the constitution, is to give the student body representation in the administra- tion of extra-curricular activities of the school and to improve the morale and spirit of the school . The Council has grown into a service body 'which can be proud of its achievements, but it is more concerned with its responsibilities' and opportunities of the future.
