MARVIN RENNER NORA TUDOR JOHN WREEDE NANCY BARNES GEORGE MILLER JUNE GEPHART MYRON EVANS News Reporter BETTY HARTOON MARILYN GRIFFITH Treasurer Secretary ALLAN MYERS Vice President RONNIE PRICE President Highlights of 1953-'54 Junior Class One of the first undertakings of the new Junior class was the election of a class advisor and the class officers When the ballot results came through, we had elected the following officers: Class Advisor....................Mrs. Myers President......................Ronnie Price Vice-President..................Allan Myers Secretary....................Marilyn Griffith Treasurer.....................Betty Hartoon Our next project was the Junior class play. For our play we chose a three-act hillbilly comedy, complete with a hillbilly band, entitled Cornin' Round the Mountain. The cast of characters was carefully chosen to get the best results. Our ticket sales boomed and a splendid performance was given on the night of November 6. The plot of the story was to get the Skitter's daughter. Corney Bell, married to the city feller whom she met at a square dance. Corney Bell got her chosen man and the play ended happily with a square dance. The Seniors definitely felt that they had been hurled through space as they passed the sure and planets on their way into outer space, when they were entertained by the Juniors at the Junior-Senior Prom. The subdued lights flickering over walls and ceilings: the flying saucers, mobiles, and hanging columns, contrasting with the dark background, so beautifully and effectively carried out the theme, Out of This World. 25
