(.lass History When we entered the ninth grade of Vaughnsville High School m 1950, we were 20 in number; although one member, Betty Worline, was not able to enter with us due to an operation in the summer. We chose the following officers: President..................Larry McWilliams Vice President..................Tom Kinstle Secretary...................Mary Jane Miller Treasurer............. .Mary Louise Stcmen News Reporter...................Lloyd Collar Under the guidance of Mr. Bremer we solved the mysteries of entering high school. With much bravery we slipped by initiation inflicted upon us by the seniors. The import- ant details of the year such as choosing our flower, the American beauty Rose, our colors, Rose and Silver, and our motto were promptly disposed. As a send-off for Mr. Bremer, who was answering an army call, we sponsored a high school party and presented a chapel program. Mr. Stull then took over and joined us at our Christmas Party held in June Renner's home. After a short vacation wc came back to VHS much wiser for we were now Sophomores, however our number decreased to 19 as Mar) K Griffith moved away. Miss Jones, with the help of the following officers, was elected to show us the way. During the year we sold T-shirts to enrich our coffers. The highlights of the year were: The Leap Year Party wc sponsored for the high school students, the girls' serving at the Junior-Senior Prom, and our accomplishments in music, scholarship, and athletics September 1952 dawned bright and fair on 19 eager Juniors, although Sue Rohrer left us in October. Our five able class officers were: President..................Keith Garberson Vice President...................Lloyd Collar Secretary...........................Mary Jane Miller Treasurer.....................Alton Stephens News Reporter...........Mary Louise Stemen Under the splendid direction of Miss Myers we presented No Place To Park. which began oar dramatic episodes. Since we were quite proud of our selection of class rings we showed them off with great flourish. Together the Juniors and 53 Seniors presented a chapel program at Christmas time. Carole Clevenger opened her home at Christmas for our dinner party. The Prom proved a grand success with its Maytime theme. The winding of the Maypnle. the crowning of the May Queen, and Tiptoe Through the Tulips will hold the memory of our Prom always dear to us The biggest year 1953-54 finally arrived as we SENIORS entered our last year in these hallowed halls of knowledge. By the side of our following class officers Miss Myers again reigned to guide us through this great year. Our Senior Christmas Party was enjoyed in the home of Ma ry Louise Stemen. In January we presented an operetta Hooray for Youth under Miss Jones and Miss Myers. Our play One Foot In Heaven was successfully produced on April 2. Throughout our high school career we have accomplished great feats in scholarship, music, dramatics, and athletics. These proved that we were trying to the best of our ability to carry out our motto: Whatever is worth dome is worth doing well. B 14
