The first business of the year was the election of officers. The results were: Class Advisor--Miss Myers, Class President--Keith Garberson, Vice-President--Lloyd Collar, Secretary--Mary Jane Miller, Treasurer Alton Stephens, and News Reporter--Mary Louise Stemen. These Offic- ers led us through a very successful year. The next big item on the agenda was the Junior Class Play. We chose a comedy. No Place to Park. The play was on schedule for the 7th of November, but at the last minute Jim Evans, one of the main characters, was taken ill and the play had to be postponed until the 10th. When Jim recovered and the play was put on, it was a huge success. The acting and speaking were fine and the attendance was the best in the history of the Junior play. Then came the big show of the year, the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme for this attraction was the Maytime. The gym was changed into a beauti- ful spring garden. There was a stone wall around the entire gym floor. There was a very beautiful spraying fountain with colored lights playing through it in one corner. In another corner was a throne for the Queen of the May. In the center of the floor was a Maypole, form which a false ceiling was suspended. The prom was a great success, as any Senior will tell you. These were the main highlights of the Junior Class. We are looking for- ward to our Senior year, when we will have many other adventures and experiences to report next year. Used by members in all recognized units of the organization, it is made up of five symbols; The owl, the plow, and the rising sun, within the cross section of an ear of corn, which is surmounted by the American eagle. Upon the face of the emblem appear also the words Vocational Agriculture ‘and the letters F. F. A. The owl is symbolic of wisdom and knowledge; the plow is the symbol of labor and tillage of the soil; the rising sun is emblematic of progress and the new day that will Hawn when all farmers are trained and have learned to co-operate; the cross section of an ear of corn represents common agricultural interests since corn is native to America and grown in every state; and the eagle is indicative of the national scope of the organization. 55 GUSTWILLER'S ARK OF SWEETS For Fresh Home Made Candies Men's and Boy's Wear Located At 56 Public Square Phone 22243 First Floor Nat'l Bank Bid.
