Williams VAUGHNSVILLE 60, CONTINENTAL 58 Vaughnsville, trailing eleven points at the end of the third quarter, came from behind and won on a last second field goal by Carol Miller. VAUGHNSVILLE 34. OTTOVILLE S Vaughnsville lost to a rangy Ottoville five. VAUGHNSVILLE 57, KALIDA 58 A long shot just as the buzzer sounded gave Kalida a hard fought victory. VAUGHNSVILLE 62. GOMER 57 A well played game, one of our best in the season, allowed Vaughnsville to come out with a win--one of the biggest upsets in the county. VAUGHNSVILLE 48, OAKWOOD 47 A close game all the way, a stall for the last two minutes, and a victory for the Vikings made up the Oakwood game. VAUGHNSVILLE 55. COLUMBUS GROVE 53 Good teamwork gave us a victory over the rangy Grove five, with a strong second quarter giving the margin of victory. VAUGHNSVILLE 50. PANDORA 67 In a game hindered by personal fouls, Pandora went wild the last two quarters to swamp us. 23

Griffith sent the game into an overtime by sinking two fouls at the end of the game. VAUGHNSVILLE 56. FT. JENNINGS 39 Vaughnsville broke into the winning column by defeating Ft. Jennings in a well played game. VAUGHNSVILLE 45. LEIPSIC 47 Vaughnsville lost a close game all the way to Leipsic. VAUGHNSVILLE 54, SHAWNEE 63 With all of Shawnee's men scoring evenly, they proved too much for Vaughnsville. VAUGHNSVILLE 55, BLANCHARD 56 Vaughnsville lost a tough game to Blanchard. VAUGHNSVILLE 61. GOMER 73 Vaughnsville lost a high scoring game to Gomer VAUGHNSVILLE 54. GLANDORF 57 Vaughnsville lost a close game with losing the margin of victory in the third period. VAUGHNSVILLE 52. OTTAWA SAINTS 78 Vaughnsville lost to a high scoring Ottawa team. VAUGHNSVILLE 36. COUNTY TOURNAMENT VAUGHNSVIELE VS KAEIDA Vaughnsville got off on the right foot in the 1951 Putnam County Tournament by defeating Kalida 48-37. With the score tied 20-20 at the halftime. Vaughnsville put on a 18 point spurt in the third period to surge ahead. Mary Griffith and Duane Young scored 14 and 12 points respectively to lead on offense, while Dave Young held Kalida's Kistler to a meager two field goals. VAUGHNSVILLE VS LEIPSIC With a 19 point barrage in the final period, Vaughnsville defeated Leipsic in the second round of tournament play. All players were outstanding and the points were topped with Duane Young's 19 and Ray Stemen's 13. VAUGHNSVILLE VS OTTOVILLE Vaughnsville's tournament hopes were rudely interrupted by the tall and sharp shooting team from Ottoville. The Big Green split the cords for 75 points while Vaughnsville could only muster 43. Ray Stemen contributed 14 points to the Vikings' cause. VAUGHNSVILLE VS MILLER CITY Last year's Ohio champions defeated the Vikings 50-45 in the consolation game of the 1951 tournament. Vaughnsville was led by Duane Young with 15 points and Ray Stemen with 13; Stemen played the whole second half with four fouls.
