Don Collar, John Foulkes. Gene Williams, Donald Jameson. Jack Weseli, Earl McKanna, Dick Otto. Five members of the Glee Clubs were chosen to take part in the Music Festival at Findlay. These were Colleen Bryan, soprano; Carolyn Myers and Doris Jean Dunlap, alto; Paul Jackson, tenor; and Theron Jackson, bass. A whole day was spent practicing and the concert was given at night. This chorus consisted of two hundred and fifteen members chosen from twelve counties in Northwestern Ohio. The director for the chorus was Professor Cline from the University of Michigan. Several of our members will compete in the district solo and ensemble contests at Bowling Green State University, Saturday, April I. The Glee Clubs will also take part in a chorus contest held at Ada on Saturday, April 15. The Girls Glee Club will make their final appearance of the year at Baccalaure- ate services in May. 25

The Glee Clubs have been active this year in various community functions and in presenting a Christmas Cantata. The Cantata, the first in years was def- initely an outstanding event of the music year. The Cantata, Rose of Christmas’ featured in solo parts the following students: soprano, Nancy Ellen Davies; alto, Carolyn Myers; tenor, Paul Jackson; bass, The.ron Jackson; flautist, Bill Myers. The following students took part in the ensembles: Colleen Vance, Doris Jean Dunlap, Mary Lou Edwards, Delores Gorman, Kathryn Thomas, Norman Smith, Wilton Bushong, Duane Young, John Foulkes, Ray Stemen, and Kermit Salisbury. This group was well supported by the mixed chorus of fifty- seven voices. The accompanist was Colleen Bryan. 24
