The field of sports found a large number of Seniors adding to the school's athletic laurels. Paul Jackson was captain of the basketball team. The Class of 50 was prominent in journalistic endeavors, with Carol Winkle acting as Editor-in-Chief of the Parrot and assisted by Catherine Thomas performed the duties of leading the editorial staff of the •'Reminder . Our dramatic ability was ably displayed in our presentation of the Senior Play, The House of a Thousand Thrills . Another high point in the year occurred when we were royally entertained by the Juniors at the annual Junior-Senior Prom. The class ended its high school career with a boat trip to Toronto, Canada, and Niagara Falls. When at commencement, we embarked upon the next step in the voyage of life, we took leave of our school days with sincere regret mingled with pleasant memories of our unforgetable experiences in V. H. S. 9
