g?i ., g H. R. BARTON, Superintendent B.A., M.Ed. I do not keep a scrap book to remind me of the past, I much prefer to look to the future. There are, however, many incidents of the past that are a part of my life that I cannot forget. Our present actions and living are a reflection of the past. I try to remember the pleasant things about an individual or an incident and forget the un- pleasant. Sometimes, however, the unpleasant happenings make us realize our weaknesses and strengthens us for the duties ahead. Let us use our memories only as they help us for the future. Just daily routine. Hal Barton, Superintendent AUGUST BUSE, Principal B.A., M.Ed. Congratulations to each of you for your share in making this past school year such a success. Day by day you have built our record at Vashon, as day by day you have added to your own treasure chest of memories. I am sure you will leaf through these pages some years from now and be reminded of your busy school schedule, the challenge of parti- cular classes, the excitement of games, the thrill of a school dance, and most of all the warmth and sincerity of high school friend- ships. Your faculty hopes that they have aided you, both intellectually ancl socially, to adjust your- selves to the modern world in which you live. For all through life you will find that no man can be his own guide, his own philosopher, or his own friend. To get along with others will have been one of your greatest accomplish- ments, both in the past and in the future. It's filled for this year. Mr. Buse
