New York City P December 12, 1965 .....at last, and it certainly feels good to be on my owntwo legs again. After all that rest, though, I feel like taking a trip, so I may go to Austria to visit the Winter Olympics this year. Geraldine Antonich is competing this year and I would like to see her win in..... Atlantic Ocean December 13, 1965 .....first day board ship. The stateroom next to mine has been taken by Roddy Spencer, NBC's star sportscaster. He is on his way to the Winter Olympics to. broadcast them to the United States..... Washington D.C. January 27, 1966 .....that I am back from the Olympics I had better start to work on my next book. It is going to be on the slum condi- tions on the Mid-East coast of the U. S. Tomorrow I have an interview with one of the social workers here in Washington D. C., Phillis Brown. She should be able to give. .... Washington D. C. January 3O, 1966 . .... Had dinner this evening with Delores Kowlitzel, the ex- Miss Hamilton, and her husband who is an authority on slums in Chicago. After dinner, which was delicious as usual, we had a long talk and ..,.... Washington D. C. February 16, 1966 .....opened the door this morning and who should be standing there but Jim Smyth, who is a salesman with the Fuller Brush Company. I was talking to Katherine Roncevich, who is in Paris to study the fashion trends there, and who has some very interesting ideas on the subject ..... Sunshine Sanatorium, U.S.A. I met Hector Bonnar up here today. He is a ski instructor, and a good one. He has had offers from several Alpine Lod- ges, including the Bavarian Alpine Club, but..... Just as we stepped from the plane a whole tribe of natives came up and would have killed us then and there if David Baldwin, whom the tribe has made their offi- cial rain-maker, had not spoken for us and so saved our lives.
