H. R. BARTON Superintendent DARE A. WILSON Secretary gf : A ,-I..,,ae,f,i.4ii.i,..w,,.,, A. F. BENNEST Principal S . a Our diaries tell us where we have been and what we have done, the crystal ball looks into the future and tells us what is to come. If the future is as pleasant as the past has been I offer no complaint. All the past hasn't been the best, but even the worst has been good for me. It is fun to remin- isce and live over some of the outstanding events of the past, but to live in the past is an indication of old age. At the time of Writing, war clouds are hovering in the horizon which make the future none too bright. We are convinced that we live in the finest country on the faceof the earth, it is our duty to see that no over-zealous group of individuals take our inherent right of living a free and happy life from us to be ruled over by a powerful hand. Through education we prepare ourselves to cope with obstacles in a more intelligent manner, to shape our future, and make life more pleasant for ourselves and fellowman. As you pursue your education, may life become more abundant andhappy. P--'WWW High school graduates, in the past, have entered a world with fewer problems than those that confront the graduates of today. The chaotic conditions that are caused by the conflict of ideologies is full of challenge to youth, not only to help preserve our way of life, but to advance the ideas that will lead to the fulfillment of everyone's dream for a Good Life. Many who have gone before have sought the answers to these problems and others are still seeking them. As is true in a relay race, the baton is being passed on to you, to run your lap in the search for a happy world in which men can live at peace with one another and be free to live the kind of life he desires. The school has had a part in making possible a situ- ation where you could gain some contact with the recorded knowledge of the world and formulate your own reactions and philosophies. How much value you have carried out of the experience is probably directly proportional to the amount of participation you have put into it. You leave this phase in the process of your education with the best wishes of all those who have had any part in your school career. They charge you with the responsibility of making your life such that you will be able to write: Dear Diary. I have contributed something to my fellow man today.
