But the leaders of other forms of Government have come to re- alize the importance of Mass Education, also. Nations around the world have engaged in an unprecedent effort to educate the masses. Education was once generally justified by its individual benefits and advantages. Today it is also a matter of national survival. If we are to exist in a highly technical, mechanized, industrial space age, our institutions of learning must contribute, at every level of instruction, to the training of individuals who will possess the necessary techniques, abilities, and skills for this age.
