SENIOR CLASS . PROPHECY One day as I was sitting in my room m Miami l'lor1da more or less day dreaming an image appeared before me As I glanced up m amazement the image said I know what you are dreaming about You would like to know what has hap pened to your classmates in the class of 1906 He then re moved a small bottle from his pocket and said Take one of these pills and it will take you on an imaginary trip to see all your classmates I was surely looking forward to my trip The flrst place to which I was taken was a large dairy farm in Minnesota As I knocked on the door who should op en it but Dennis Heldman Denms has a large herd of guern sey cows In looking around his farm I noticed that he had become very successful for everything was beautiful Before leavlng Denms said he thought I would like to meet his head hired man It was none other than Glenn Rickle He was workmg for ten dollars an hour was the president of General Motors I found that he was very happily married to another former classmate Shirley Rickle As I flew on to New York I was given a ticket to the Metropolitan Opera Company Durmg the performance I at tended I discovered that Kyle Wiseley was the Met s leading baritone Also m New York I attended a large fashion show On the program I noticed that the clothes were designed by none other than Ruth Greene She also desxgned apparel for our country s first lady I then was flown to San Diego There 1n an apartment I located two former classmates Margre Patrick and Ellen Hile They were waiting for their husbands who had re enlisted several times previously to be discharged from the service Marge and Ellen were secretaries m a large firm My next stop was Hollywood What a fabulous place' Whlle there I spent an evening at C1ro s Who should the mam attraction be but Gary Hatch' He has replaced Bmg Crosby Also on the same bill was Leona Row I always had remembered her love for singing while m high school One night between plane trips I was watchmg television m my bedroom It was a basketball game between the Har lem Globetrotters and the Boston Whxrlwlnds The leading player for the Whirlwmds was our own Jim Hagerty I was also amazed to hear that the coach of the Boston team was Curtis Wright As I was returning East I changed planes m Kansas City VN ith a two hour wait between flights I decided to get something to eat I oy erheard some men talking about the Bushong brothers Wondering lf it might be Daryl and Dar wm I asked The men said they were wheat farmers and very successful Traveling on eastward I V1S1t8d Chicago While there I attended an antique auction To my surprise the auctloneer was James I' letcher Also m Chicago I found Ron Geiger working at the Bell Telephone Company Quite a step from the Alvada exchange' On a small farm m Ohio I found Ivan Bishop raismg country Because many of the class usually stay around home I decided to go to Vanlue When I arrived there I found Nor ma McR1ll to be the principal of Vanlue High School Law rence Kessler was the head Janitor The school was much larger than when I went there I found Alben Roark was still a champion corn grower just llke he was m high school He lived on a small farm near Vanlue Then Ijourneyed on to Findlay ThereI discovered Jeannette Lee was the private secretary to the Oluo O11 Com pany s president Also m Findlay I located Karl Sullenberger selling John Deere machmery Nlma Fruth was kept very busy keepmg track of all the sales he made Nix next and last stop was m Nan Buren I found Laura Hendricks there bhe was married and the mother of four children I alw ays thought she would settle in Van Buren for she was alw ays mterested m Van Buren bovs As I journeyed back to my home tears came to my eyes as I thought how successful my classmates were and how wonderful it was to have seen them all Barbara Martm x ' 1, N , ar E 4 .1 1 My next stop was in Detroit, There I saw Jim May.
