CLASS HISTUHY In the fall of 1939, thirty-five small tots started their school days at Vaniue. The first eight years were lots of fun although everyone looked forward to his high school days. 'Then in 1947 it happened!! Our high school life began. We became Freshmen: Our class officers were: President-Luana Nye, Vice President--Ioe Bright, Secretary-Eldon Bame, Treasurer-Mary lane Sherick and Reporter- Earlene Beard. Our class sponsor was Mr. Nichols. Red and white became our class colors and the white camation our class flower. We chose Courage is Success as our class motto. The next year we took another step as we became Sophomores. Class officers were: President-Ioe Bright, Vice President-Luana Nye, Secretary- Treasurer-Mary lane Sherick and Reporter-Norman Lee. We chose Mr. Hanline as our class sponsor. Then we became Iuniors. We were still closer to our goal. We presented the three-act comedy Seventeen is Terrific , which proved to be very success- ful. A banquet was given in honor of the graduating class of 1950. Our Iunior class officers were: President-Mary lane Sherick, Vice President--Eldon Bame, Secretary-Treasurer-Bonylin Hatch, Reporter-Norman Lee and Miss Oman was our sponsor. Alasl We became Seniors. Our last step in high school. Our class officers were: President-Ioe Bright, Vice President-Virginia Hendricks, Secretary- Treasurer-Bonylin Hatch and Reporter-Luana Nye. For our sponsor we chose Miss Oman. A three-act comedy Who Wouldn't Be Crazy was presented by the class. Our main interest was to secure money for our trip in the spring. We wish to thank our teachers, parents, and the members of our community who have helped us during our twelve years in school. We are looking forward to the future and hope to be able to accept the opportunities and responsibilities that we encounter.
