Entering the north door and fol- lowing the older students to the upper floor, she tries to slip unnoticed into a back seat during roll call. After puzzling over her schedule, she heads for the first period class. Soon the unfamiliar muddle becomes a smooth routine and it is a common occur- rence to see Miss Van Lue going to class. Seniala 61644 Gfficafi 61444 We have at last reached the goal for which we have been striving through our twelve years of school. We took our first step' toward the end of our school career in the fall of '43. Ieanne Waugh was our sponsor and officers were: President, Robert Fry, Vice President, Kent Dukes, Secretary-Treasurer, Helen Cole. We chose as our class colors-Red and Black, class flower-Red Rose, class motto- To- night we launch, where shall we anchor. We became Sophomores, with Rose Dehnhoff as our sponsor, and Presi- dent, Frances Marshall, Vice President, Donna Mae Miller, Secretary-Treas- urer, Edith Risner, Reporter, Ioann Patrick, as our councilmen. Our next step was taken into our Iunior year. We presented the Iunior play, Aunt Susie Shoots the Works , which proved to be a great success. Our next great success was the lunior-Senior Banquet. Under the super- vision of Virginia Reber and President, Edith Risner, Vice President, Claren Thomas, Secretary, Donna Mae Miller, Treasurer, Betty Sausser, Reporter, Rebecca Puckett, the Iunior year came to a glorious close. - We began our Senior year with Lorine Oman as our supervisor, President, Donald Broadwater, Vice President, Mary Louise King, Secretary-Treasurer, Betty Sausser, Reporter, Edith Risner. We presented the Senior play, The Ghost In The Belfry and published the Scarlet and Gray . Both were suc- cessful. We were the honored guests at the Iunior-Senior Banquet. Our school career was brought to a close with the Commencement exer- cises on May 17. We shall always remember the pleasant times we had at Vanlue. Donna Mae Miller, Class Historian.
