Dedication to the School 'Twas in the year of twenty-three, Twenty-six tiny babies were we. And in that year a building grew, It was the schoolhouse of Vanlue. By twenty-nine the school had grown, And into the first grade we had flown. The first year was one of' trials and correction, Under the guiding hand of Miss Gillette's direction. In 35 we were half way through, And all the while the school grew. By 37 we ended our grade school career, Learning to fight and spread good cheer. As we grew up the school grew too, And by 41 we were through. The school continues to go on its way, Establishing knowledge and getting no pay. Now as we leave and seek our fame, We dedicate this book in the Vanlue name. We are doing what no other class can do. And now we shall say to Vanlue High Adieu. Senior Class of 41 Page three

VANLUE Page two Mr. Breitigam Long and faithfully he served. if Ill MCmOfl3H1 EULOGY This we can state of him, none carried hate of him. None ever left him with pain in his heart. This can be said of himg none lived in dread of him. He scoffed at nobody just to be smart. None in vulgarity spoke in disparity, Calling' him names that We commonly hear. Nobody jeerezl at him! Nobody sneered at him. No one was worse off for having him near. Brave was the heart of himg kindness a part of him, True to his faith and his fellows he stayedg None could recall of him, traits that were small of him. None had been hurt by the blunders he made. This we can tell of him, all men thought well of him. Home goes his spirit now bearing no stain. This We can say of him over the clay of him, God will be proud to receive him again. -Edgar Guest
