The next year we were freshies green, So afraid that we'd be seen. When Juniors we presented Gay , To take us further on our way. And Pigtails in our Senior year, Ended our struggle for a goal so dear. The years have flown quick and fast, And now as we glance into our past, We wish to thank you everyone, For education, hope and fun. Underclassmen we say to you, Always be courteous, kind and true. Page sixteen enior Class We, the Senior Class of 1941 of Vanlue High School, realizing that our school days are drawing to a close, do hereby make and publish this, our last will and testament. A We give and bequeath our various properties and characteristics as follows: Article I Betty Beck wills her ambition for sports to Donnabel Shuck and Ardeth Thomas. Article II Lawrence Bright intrusts his deep blushes to Thomas Roller and Reid McKee. ' Article III Virginia Shuck bequests her jolly good-nature to Reva McKee and Bud Dyer. Article IV Helen Beck wills her ability as a successful class president to Clair Oman. Article V John Loudenslager and John Cole intrust their athletic ability to Samuel Opp and Jack Dean. Article VI Ruth Ellen Dulgar wills her ability as editor of the class annual to Clifford Reed. Article VII Ruth Cupp and Pauline Kauffman intrust their giggles to Mary Ellen Redick and Avonelle Stone. Article IX Doris Hendricks and Belva Crawford leave their ability to cheer- lead to Roberta Miller. Article X Reva Thompson bequests her height to Loren Helfer. Article XI Robert King intrusts his ability to manage a basketball team to Robert Hendricks. Article XII Donna Thomas wills her ability to make friends to Margaret Wohl- gamuth and Mary McKee. Article XIII Bradie Marshall bequests his quiet nature to Billy Ward and Virginia Arnett. Article XIX Robert Shuck wills his ability to look innocent to John Roberts. Article XX Florence Fry and Luella Walters transfer their pleasing person- - alities to Mary N aeyaert. Article XXI Juanita Hendricks bequests her scholastic standing to Nana Bechtel. Article XXII Margaret Phillips leaves to Mary Jane Breitigam her art of con- versation. Article XXIII Bebe Thomas intrusts her mischievous nature to Raymond Tong. Article XXIV Cosmo Plotts leaves his comic actions and cleverness to Edezene Arnett and Vernon Opp. Article XXV lgikariilorie Thomas bequests her ability of leadership to Donnabellc u . Article XXVI The Senior Class wills the little brown jug to the Junior Class. Article XXVII The Senior Class bequeaths to the members of the faculty its sin- cere thanks and gratitude to the patience and deep understanding they have shown us during our school days. Article XXVIII We, the Senior Class, do hereby extend our whole-hearted apprecia- tion and thanks to the Board of Education and to our parents who have helped to make our school days the most happy and memorial of our life. w M1-llaree Down an ne to Grow Twenty-eight Juniors climbed into the second-class With great big grins from ear to earg Pilot Mr. Monson sat at the front, To watch for all unpleasing bumps. Co-pilot Mary Ellen Redick did her best, To help Pilot Monson and all the rest. Weather-man Clair Oman gave this shout, We're in for a storm, but don't bail out! Stewardess Ardeth Thomas Wrote in a book All of the doings in every corner and nook, Radio Operator Nana Bechtel paid all the bills, When the ship was damaged among the hills. Reva McKee made all their reports She recorded all their great doings and the sort, The ships colors were red and white You never have seen such a beautiful sight. I came, I saw, I conquered , was painted on the wings And to that motto the class will always cling. Beautiful Red Roses adorned the ship To make the passengers have a more pleasing trip. Several class parties were enjoyed throughout the year, All the Students attending with plenty of cheer.
