This club was started at our school in 1952 by a group of people interested in im- proving the moral and spiritual standards of the students. A. is to promote a growing appreciation of the joy and satis- faction of homernaking and good will, also to encourage democracy in home and com- munity life. Other purposes are to work for good home and family life for all and to provide wholesome individual and group re- creation and further interest in home econo- mics. Any school pupil who is enrolled in a hornemaking class can become a member. The F. H. A. chapter has been active since 1951. This group became a chartered affiliate of the National F. T. A. in the fall of this year. Various activities included setting up a cadet teachers program and visiting near by college campuses. The main purpose of the club is to encourage students to learn basic library skills such as book mending, book selecting, and maintenance of a library, and to instill and develope qualities of responsibility, ef- ficiency, and co-operation. Numerous get' togethers and the state conventions in the spring highlight the year's co-social activi- ties. The group was formed in 1945 and is affiliated with the National Rifle Association of America. To encourage better sportsmanship is the pur- pose of this organization. Members may earn several qualification ratings and receive pins, lapel pins, and brassards. A diploma is awarded to each earning a rating. The members shoot for qualifications on an in- dividual basis at every meeting and usually complete in an annual club meet through the mail.
