THE HO OFFICERS DOVG FISHER ,... ..... I 'rfsid 4'rz I GENE OVVEN .... ..... f Ilfrlc JEAN NVARD .... , . . . . . ..... S 4'1' rrlary During the past year the Honor Council's main objective has been to orientate the students, both old and new, to the meaning and true worth of the Honor System. The great number of cases turned in last spring showed clearly the need for new emphasis upon the Honor Code. With the aid of the faculty and the suggestions of the Council members, we endeavored to create a program whereby the students would become more Nhonor conscious. Chapel programs were held for each division of the university, informative letters were sent out during the summer to each new student, OR COUNCIL and a part of the orientation program was set aside for the Honor System. It was gratifying to us as Council members to see the results brought about by our efforts. There have been very few cases turned in to us this year and most of those have been student reported cases. This interest of the students is quite an improvement over the past few years and we hope that it will continue in the years to come. The Honor System is an integral part of col- lege life and we want each student to feel this as a need and an obligation. The Council of 1949-50 has strived to emphasize this feeling among stu- dents more than the actual trials. By this approach we hope to have a minimum number of cases re- ported each year. The Council in Session
