TO MR. FRANK C. RAND FORMER PRESIDENT, BOARD OF TRUST, VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY The staff of the 1950 COMMODORE takes great pleasure in dedicating this volume to Mr. Frank C. Rand. During his lifetime Mr. Rand served faithfully and well his ' alma mater. He gave of his time and money to further the cause of Vanderbilt. Mr. Rand was a member of the class of 1898. While at Vanderbilt, he was active in all phases of student life. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, served as manager of the baseball team, won the Tennessee tennis championship and was president of his graduating class, among other things. Mr. Rand served on the Board of Trust for thirty-seven years. He became presi- dent of the board in 1936 and held this post until his death, December 2, 1949. His loyalty to the University was unquestioned and unstinted. We of Vanderbilt are proud to have had the opportunity to know, work with, and respect Frank C. Rand.
