Senior Class History J The Class of Nineteen Three has reached the dignity and exalted position of seniority, and now, as we smile backward over the pathway that has led to graduation, our eyes become unaccountably blurred, and we choke back a lump in our throats and lie placidly to one another about how delighted we are to begin real life, to battle with the world, to prove our Worth, and all such hackneyed rot. As Freshmen we suffered untold horrors-weak in numbers but wanting nothing in strength of soul, we met the end of all bantams and were ingloriously suppressed. In Sopho- more and junior years the polishing process continued in easier doses-the mill ground down our roughness and brightened our unsightly parts-until we have been evolved men and women from the crude stuff of which our class was made, ready now to enter into the joys of the goal of all our hopes, Commencement Day, it for such an honor. From the roll of 1903 many have fallen away, and many a bright jewel is missing from the cluster of our class. New ones have entered, and a change so great has taken place that what was 1903 in 'QQ is now but a fragment of itself. But, great or small, we depart from the University with a love for the Gold and Black engendered and grown within us, that neither joy nor grief can ever dim. Our pride in our class is great, but our love for our Alma Mater greater. May her future be more grand than we could wish, and may her name be brightened just a little by the record of the Class of Nineteen Three. And so, farewell l fx ' , A Jyfflf f W5 it ,I,.,wX.
