ATERIZIEIZRUN FOIZVICTORY .N-' ,M f ' ,A -- 1 Coach Spinella receives trophy on behalf of track team. trophies, LeBouef and Pitre display ther skillful hand off which brought many victories for the 440 relay team. Vandebilt's super cindermen equaled the honors earned by the other Terrier teams, in achieving the district 6-A crown, but faltered in the class A Regional track meet.. After taking its district trophy very easily, the Terriers expected to place well in the Regionals. But with three of their top-flight performers missing from action, the Terriers track squad only managed to finish fifth in the bi-district meet at Crowley. Throughout the year, Vandy's cindermen had placed first in the two meets sponsored by Plaquemines, in the Vandebilt relays and in the district meet. Of course, the Terrier cindermen couldn't have gotten far without the help and devotion of their fine coach Melvin Spinella. I80 1 uv. f..,,.tp.:-.iran qvviyr- - m .1-4r,,, nw. Brother John smiles proudly as he displays trophy. Members of the V.C.H. golf team are John Walker, Donald Dupont, Charles Lee, Eric Guillot, Putsy Mire. A TEI21-EJEIZ SWING Charles Lee demonstrates his winning swing. GOLF Out to gain more fame in the Tcrrier's year was the golf team led by Charles Lee and Eric Cuillot. Under the watchful eye of Brother John, Vandy's linksters took the district title in a six team league. They ended their season sixth in state and best in class A. As Brother John puts it, the boys played se- rious golf' year round and never got out of shape. To be first in Class A and sixth in State, is a fitting tribute to the boys' hard work. Charles Lee added to the Terriers fame by placing second in the state tournament and tying for first in dis- trict. Eric Guillot took second place honors in the district. The team will miss the support of two fine seniors, John Walker and Eric Guillot.
