Mitch Thompson, 95411, a senior displays effort to gain points in the struggle against Patterson. Another basket made by Clifton Ciroir, a senior, adds 2 points for the Terriers iii the game against Berwick. I68 AN UNDYING Mike Thompson, 5433, a senior has a sure aim for another 2 points against Sam Barthe. The Vandebilt Terriers started their dis- trict basketball contest with a 70-64 vic- tory over the Ascension Bulldogs. The game progressed rather slowly in the first quarter, with both teams employing their most potent defensive techniques. The Terriers came alive in the 2nd quar- ter, as Mitch Thompson scored 23 points in 8 minutes. Ascension tied the game 56-all but Eschete pumped in his four straight gratis points, putting the Terriers in the clear the rest of the game.

Tossing a sure ringer is Mike Rohichaux, Junior, in game against Sam Barthe. The Terriers defeated Patterson 92-48 in their second District 6-A contest. The Terriers were never behind, and outscored their op- ponents hy large margins in every period to register the victory. Phil Benoit, a junior, made his first appearance of the season and pumped in 8 points in the final quarter. Terrier substitutes, Hamilton and Crochet, overpower the hapless Hornets of Sam Banhe. VANDY CAGEPS Edward Eschete, a Junior, shoots for another 2 points, helping to lead the Terriers to victory against As- cension.
