A ight to Remember Our Gay Nmetles Prom If the Gay Nineties were as gay as the prom we were born fifty years too late From the time the excited Juniors and seniors saw Diamond lim s sign above the door until Char les Kruenegel and Carolyn Sears were crowned King and queen all troubles and Worries were forgotten The girls in fluffy pastel formals and boys in White Jackets were quite a con trast to the waiters typlcal to the nineties with curly mustaches and hair parted in the middle When the music lulled confetti hid den in little black tophats on the fringe covered card tables began to fly through the air in down their necks and to the floor The huge old fashioned painted portraits on the wall made us feel our grandparents were ou chaperones Cliveryone made a rush to take one home for a souvenir after the dance D None of us came on a bicycle built for two but the music of Paul Douglas and his orchestra made us feel like we were floating on air Master of Ceremonies Todd McKellar alias Diamond lim Brady introduced fohn Williams with the Iunior welcome and Kenny Taylor with the Senior response Four of our handsome waiters transformed themselves into a typical Gay Nineties guartette All was quiet as they opened their mouths and gave forth with rollicking melodies of the nineties After filling up on punch and Cookies the merry couples went on their Way thanking our host and hostess Mr and Mrs Cramer for a very lovely evening KYB?
