March- Dear Diary- Our speech team is simply super. They sent more entries to the sectional than any other school in our district. I guess Ricky Minor is super too. He was picked first on the All-Star Cast. F. F. A. filled a speech team also, and from what I hear they did pretty good. Hurrah! Only eleven more weeks and school will be out. I just Wonder if I can Wait. Oh! Swoon! That band! Mr. Gould certainly has done a wonderful job. When they played The Unfinished Sym- phony, I could almost see Schubert standing there nodding his approval. April- Dear Diary- Why, oh why, didn't I take Ag? That food smelled so-o-o good. And all that pie. Yum! Yum! Mmmmm-All those beautiful girls! And with voices too! Mrs. Kains, how do you do it? That Glee Club Con- cert gets better every year. The Student Council sent delegates to the State Con- vention at Peoria, and they say they have all kinds of new ideas. The only catch is that all the ideas aren't on Student Council work. In spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love. But not in V. C. H. S. Here it turns to track! The Conference meet is the 30th, and that's all the guys have been talking about for the last three weeks. May- Dear Diary- Oh! Woe is me! Why do I always wait until the last minute . . . Open House is only three days away and I haven't started my projects yet. What a night! I really had fun! Thanks, juniors, for the swell prom. In just a few more days it will be all over and We will have to say good-bye. College, vacations, new jobs, and wedding bells are all we can talk about. With a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat I bid a last farewell.

December- Dear Diary- A cheer for the Vcxndaloisl lt was the best Homecoming ever. The Queen's floats were simply marvelous, and for that matter, the candidates weren't so bad themselves. Deck the halls with boughs of holly. Yes, and the Student Council did just that very thing. And to add to it they presented a Christmas program in which the Thespians gave The Supreme Gift. The whole thing was super, and it really did add to the Christmas spirit. At last, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Diary. Ianuary- Dear Diary- Ohl Those examsl l hate 'eml We have one consolation though-they were our last. Whewl Am l tired. And who wouldn't be after that N. H. S, party. lt was supposed to be for mental wizards, but it seemed to me more like a physical education class. Mr. Blythe made a swell coxswain in the faculty's skit, and for that matter Miss Barr was pretty good on the oars too. Gangway, Mr. Atlas, here come the V. C. H. S. wrestlers. Some of those boys Coach Drenckpohl put on exhibition were sure tough. lust ask ferry McDaniels. February- Dear Diary- Laugh? l thought l'd die But l still haven't decided which was the funniest, the G. A. A. initiates, the F. H. A. girls, or the new Thespians. All were terrific. Unhappy day! l won't be able to go out for a month. l've spent all my money for Valentine candy. Whoopsl l'll have to take that back. The girls are taking us to the Leap Year party this week. Some of them are going to have cars tool l'll bet Miss Upchurch is worn out. She's been spending the last month on the speech team and finally they seem to be putting the emphasis on the right word.
