44 35 bb Bill Staff Beeb, the sparkplug of the Vandal five, gained 1 state wide recognition for his accurate shooting and tricky dribbling. He'll be very valuable next year. Bob Chandler Bob's rebounding and scrappy play kept the Vandals in the game at all times. His do-or-die atti- tude will be greatly missed next year. Coach Vernon Drenclcpohl Bill Hamer Bill is a steady player who turned in some excellent exhibition. His drive and defensive ability were factors that helped to make this season a successful one. Dale Hczmby Although only a sophomore Dale was a threat to every team. His superior height carrie in handy very often. Dale is playing his second year as a regular. Paul Thomas A sharp-shooting forward, Paul always seemed to come through with a basket when we needed it most. We missed Paul considerably during the tournaments. Iim Staff lim carried the scoring honors for VC. HS. His drive and accurate shooting was a threat to every team. fim's speed and rebounding ability also made him a valu- able defensive player. LETTERMEN Lowell Ewart Lowell Carroll was seen in a few first team games and showed a great improve- ment over last year. He'll help out next year's team. Lyle Ellicott Although handicapped by height, Lyle's drive and accurate shooting assured him a position on the first ten. Skippy Carroll 'lSkip's constant rebounding led him to action in several first team games. Skip should help out considerably dur- ing the '49-'SO seasons. Kenny Caraker Although a substitute this year, Kenny's accurate shooting will be an asset to next years team. Miller Reeter Moe was seen in a few first team games. His defense work showed a great improvement during the first part of the season. Eddie Steinhauer When the coach chose Eddie to be manager, he sure knew what he was doing, because Eddie is a likable guy who gets a lot done. Ed is assisted by Bob Moore. Coach Mills l ' 5 44 34
