Y i 0 0 0 o Q The National Athletic Scholastic Society is composed of high school boys throughout the nation who have earned a letter in some varf f-sity sport and who have kept above average grades for three 'straight semesters. Members oI the organization this year are Bob Chandler, Paul Thomas, Norman Bass, Bill l-larf ner, Bob Welch, and Iim Staff. The last three mentioned are new members this year while the other three are members from previous Vl V1I'F3 P. Thomas, I. Staff, B. Welch, B. Chandler, B. Hamer, N. Bass B The Vandalia Vandals' baseball team ended the l946 baseball season -1 with a record of five wins and three losses. The team this year was made up of six veterans from last years team and three newcomers. This team, to get in condition for the four home and tour away games, practiced every night last fall, provided the weather was permissible. The teams they competed against were Altamont, Brownstown, Farina, Mulberry Grove, and Kinmundy. The positions of the players were as follows: Cflim Staff, P -Paul Thom- as, lBfBob Blunt, 2BfIohn Lester, SSfBill Stattp 3BfBill l-larner, LFfBob Welch, CF' Norman Bass, and BF---Paul Davidson.
