l COMMANDING OFFICER 11 MAY 197.3 - PRESENT Captain Charles I. Moore Captain Charles I. Moore entered the Navy as a Naval Aviation Cadet in September 1950. Upon completion of flight training in December 1951, he received his commission and wings. His first assignment was to Anti-Submarine Squadron Thirty-Nine at NAS, Quonset Point, Rhode Island. This tour was followed by two years of ready reserve flying in Fighter Squadron Eight Twenty-Three and Attack Squadron Eight Twenty -Two at NAS, New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1956, Captain Moore received orders to duty at NAAS Saufley Field in Pensacola, Florida, as a flight instructor in Basic Training Group One. Having completed two years of college at Baylor University before entering the Navy, he was then ordered to the University of Colorado for two years followed shortly by orders to the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California where he was awarded Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. In Iune 1963 he reported to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron Twelve in Norfolk, Virginia, and deployed to the Sixth Fleet embarded in USS SARATOGA CCVA-609 as Officer-in-Charge of Detachment Sixty. The next two years were spent in the Office of the Navy Plant Representative, Bethpage, New York. Captain Moore then became Commanding Officer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Hundred Fourteen in October 1967, just before a deployment to Seventh Fleet embarked in USS KITTY HAWK ,CCVA-635. He was then assigned to USS ,KITTY HAWK as Weapons Officer for two years, and followed this tour with duty as Commanding Officer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Training Squadron One Hundred Ten at NAS North Island, Coronado, California. Prior to reporting to USS VAN- COUVER, Captain Moore was assigned. to the Naval Material Command, Washington, .D.C., as Deputy Director, Tactical Electromagnetic Programs. Awards received by Captian Moore include the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and various campaign medals. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Moore of Longview, Texas, he is married to the former Dian Fowler of Pensacola, Florida. They have four children: Charles, Ir., Reid, Meg Ann and a qmarried daughter, Brena White.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER CDR Theodore R. Iohnson, Ir 1 l l CDR Theodore R. Iohnson, Ir., was born in Athens, Georgia, on 10 September 1930. He entered the Navy on 10 September 1947 and received his commission for OCS, Newport, R. I., on 6 September 1957. I-Ie reported to VAN- COUVER from a tour of duty under instruction at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, where he earned his B. A. degree. Additionally, his previous duty stations as a commissioned office include: USS WILLIAM C. LAWE CDD-7635, USS ALACRITY CMSO-5209, COMINLANT STAFF, USS BITTERN QMHC-435, COMSEVENTHFLT STAFF, Ship Engineering and Research Laboratory, Panama City, Florida.
