Martin, Jr. 1 er 1 CDR Fred ic C CZSWGI Jr. I CDR Charles W.-Martin, Jr., was born in Canastota, New York on 22 June 1930,He reported to VANCOUVEBfrom atour of duty at the U.S. Strike Command Headquarters, Tampa, Florida. He is a graduate of Villan- ova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania, class of 1953. His previous duty assign- ments include: USS NAIFEH QDE-3525, USS LAWS QDD-5583, USS LOS ANGELES QCA- 135J, COMC RUDESFLOT 3,Staff,the Bureau of Naval Personnel and USS FECHTELER QDD-8705. CDR Martin is married to the former Leila B. Lynch of San Diego, California. They have two children: Charles, III, and Suzanne. , CDR Frederic C. Caswell, Jr., gradu- ated from' Brown Unive.rsity' at Providence in 1951. He was commissioned as an Ensignin the ,regular Navy at that time as- a result of his participation as amidshipman in the 4- year Naval Reserve OfficeriTraining Corps program while attending Brown. ' I . ,- He was ordered to active duty in Sep- tember 1951, when he reported to USS HALE IQDD-6425, an east coast destroyer. He has had previous duty assignments including the USS AMH-ERST QPCER-85321, USS CABILDO QLSIJ-161, the Office of the Chief of Naval In- formation and the staff of Commander Am- phibious Group FOUR. , CDR Caswell joined the VANCOUVER in May of 1968, after serving as Plans and Operations Advisor to the Commander in Chief, Chinese Navy, Taipei, Taiwan. His present residence is in Coronado, California with his wife, Ruth, and three children: Ellen, James and Judith, who are all attending local elementary and high schools,
