Early to bed and early to rise became the motto for students in Retha Rockey's 7:30 a.m. typing class, the first early morning class to be offered in times of peace in Vancouver High School's history. In addition to Miss Rockey, new teachers added to the staff included Delmar Harris, Nina Huie, Helen Klossner, Patsy McCabe, Irene McCall, Faun Maddux, Thomas Poe, and Don Whyte. Return- ing from a year's leave of absence were Constance Kirwin and James Miller. The faculty, 75 strong, were aided by several student teachers from the Central Washington College of Education this year in teaching 1860 pupils. LOOKING AHEAD-next year's even larger faculty will be di- vided between Vancouver s two high schools and many changes will take place.
