There were several faculty changes at V. H. S. for the year 1953-54. Mr. Boyd and Mr. Sandberg exchanged positions. Mr. Boyd became Principal and Mr. Sandberg took over the duties of Vice-Principal. A welcome addition to the Faculty from the town of Hilversum in The Netherlands was Mr. Dijkwell, exchange teacher, who taught Astronomy, a subject new to the V. H. S. curriculum. Returned to the Faculty after being absent for one year was Mr. Mc Phaden, who spent a year at Columbia Uni versity in New York, doing graduate work Miss Kirwin and Mr. J. D. Miller were both on leave from V H S during this year Miss Kirwin was taking graduate work at University in California.
