Basketball Mr. Lester Long, Coach Guiding his team through an almost unbelievable season, Coach Les Long molded together a team which could taste nothing but vic- tory. Winning Twenty-two consecutive games in an unblemishedsea- son, the Trapper J. V.'s trounced such teams as' Woodland and Wash- ougal who placed high in the Trico League. Coach Long scheduled a game with the highly touted Scappoose High, which was entered in the Oregon State High School Tournament. For the climax of the sea- son they defeated the favored Oregon team with a convincing 57-47 win. All but veteran Bob Miller will return next year to provide capa- ble Varsity material. The Sophomores always played interesting games as preliminaries to Varsity contests. The aggressive yearlings lost but two games during their con- ference season. These boys show much promise for the J.V. and Var- sity squads next year.
