Treasurer Reporter Q 9 it irls ea ue Miss Dorothea von Berg, Dean of Girls This year's program was planned to in- clude every girl in its functions. To make each new girl feel a part of the school, the activities began with a Big Sister orientation program and a costume Mix. The money raising projects included sell- ing cokes and programs at football games. Half of the proceeds from a fudge sale weiiit to the Student Body's adopted school in Germany. The installation of officers was changed from the traditional candlelight ceremony to one using flowers to symbolize the Girls' League ideals. Assemblies held once a month presented interesting speakers as Well as programs put on by the Girls' Athletic Association and Senior girls. Carrying out a Gay Nineties theme, the annual Tolo dance highlighted the social events year. The CS?ifs3Q:League had an active part in the Southwest Washington spring and fall con- ferences held in Camas and Longview, for which Sue Wondrak served as secretary. The Girls' League was represented at the Leaders' Conference at the University of Washington. Vice President tudlen Body Oiihicers l Marjorie Preston Ed Osborn Se0'retm'y Sezryeflizt-at-ilrms As the highest executive body of the school, the Student Council deals with the problems of the school as a whole and with those of the organizations represented within the council. In conjunction with the Shumway Council they also have jurisdiction over the Trapedero Teen-Age Club. Among the amendments to the by-laws are the anproval of awards in Band and a Cap- pella Choir and the inauguration of major awards in tennis. New to the council line-up is the appointive office of Junior Red Cross Chairman. Throughout the year the Council approved the adoption of the Viktoria Luise school in Germany and sponsored various national and civic drives within the school. Among the many projects carried out were the inauguration of an an- nual Dress-Up Day and the collection of canned foods for overseas relief. Leading the list of social events was the White Christmas Ball, December 12, 1947, co-sponsored by the Boys' League and the Triads. It featured a Mr. and Miss Who contest. Both the winners and the mystery couple were presented that evening. Throughout the year various types of pro- grams Were given for the boys. They usually were presented by interesting persons who told of their vocations and experiences. A successful year was brought to a close by a party at the Trapedero in honor of the Girls' League Cabinet.
