Foreword We present once more your yearly publication, the ALKI. Here is a record by picture and printed word of every activity of Vancouver High School. In- cluded in it are familiar scenes and faces which will in years to come serve as a reminder of your event- ful school days. This year has been marked in the history of the school as a momentous one. Progress and success have prevailed on the athletic field, in class work, and in the Hne arts. Milestones lie be- hind us for the individual and the school. Hence, Growth has been chosen as the theme for this year's publication. -Betty Wilcox, Editor Art M otzf The art theme in this year's ALKI portrays the stage of growth which Vancouver High School has attained up to the present time. Our school has come a long way. We have made growth from the pioneer days, as represented by the original Trapper of Ex Libfris , to 1937, as represented by the modern football player of Finis . Improvement has been made in many departments. We have now an electrically lighted field for our modern athlete, a new library, which provides better facilities for the pupils to study, improvement in instruction, because the faculty travels to schools of higher learning, and increased advantages in our social life, which include music and dramatics as part of our everyday activities. -Maxine Thibodeaux, Art Editor
