Y Y ' 1' -P' ZBasehalI On account of the war we were almost forced to drop all scheduled games. The weather conditions also delayed spring practice. However, when the sun did manage to shine for a day or two there were a large number of athletes turned out to enjoy the national game. But the war and weather together could not down our baseball spirit, and the class series were played between showers. We also have a game scheduled with Oregon City for May 19, which we hope to play if it doesn't snow or rain. We hope to see a large turn-out to help us along with a victory. The first interclass game resulted in a victory for the juniors over the Seniors by a I2 to l score. This game proved a walkaway for the juniors. The second game resulted in a victory for the Sophomores over the Freshmen by a I2 to 2 score. Another walkaway. The game between the Sophomores and juniors was for the championship of the High School. The juniors won, 8 to l. For the first five innings the Sopho- mores led. l to 0. During the remainder of the game, however, the juniors outclassed their rivals and coupled with errors they won out easily johnson and l-lonan both pitched well The Freshmen and Seniors played a game for the cellar championship which resulted in the Seniors occupying the cellar The score was 10 to 7 Watson playing short for the Seniors made a great one handed catch which caused the crovid to throw exclamations of surprise at him instead of money The juniors have challenged the other classes and a game is arranged be tween them which we wish to play before school is out The junior team is composed of Belisle Honan Becker Osborne Munger Shattuck Wise Gerrard and jamison BASEBALL SQUAD 1 : mi ii.. 1 11? 0 1 I lin u B ull Tom Honm 1 i oral lunge: Pcirson toultu 1 I hltchen William Wilmot Ion Xhsc Nlenlm Baker 0st ir I crrnrd XXIHIS Bmxni in NIor1t7 Sclmuil pfuug I:.1don Brute ldmond Belisle IIWIIIB Goddard Weslty Shattuck 1 Y ' . . , ., ' y - Y 7 Y 1 1 7 9 ' .--111.11 - 131:-nnii1lZ 3 . .
