PHILIP J. LYONS Prince Rupert’s gift to the Class of ’53 entered the College in his Junior year. Phil immediately took up the V.C. spirit by enthusiastically parti- cipating in Intramurals, Drama and Pep Club. Commerce at St. Martin’s is next on the list for Phil. CORDON M. MacKENZIE “Gordie”, one of our real pioneers, has been at the College since Sep- tember, ’43. His long record here has been one of unflinching loyalty — a credit to the school and to the Brothers. Besides holding a place on the Honour Roll, he has displayed outstanding ability on the basketball court. Our bes t to our best! RAYMOND F. McCLEERY Ray entered V.C. in September, ’47 and has managed to stick it out through thick and thin. He has taken part in Football, Intramurals and the Glee Club, besides donating time and service to the Pep Club. Fores- try, at UBC, is next on the list for Ray. DOUGLAS C. MacDONALD One of our “old timers”, Doug came to V.C. in September, ’46. Besides Boxing and Intramurals, Doug has shown outstanding prowess on the Varsity Football Squad for three con- secutive seasons. Law, at U.B.C., is the next step for Doug. PABLO LLORT Pablo, San Salvador’s first gift to the College, entered V.C. in Grade 8. Although he came here principally to learn English, he has displayed’ his school spirit in such activities as: Cheerleading, Intramurals and Glee Glub, besides superlative accomplish- ments on the Basketball court. ERNEST J. GIRARD Ernie, whose musical talent won him the official position of accompanist for the Glee Club, is one of the school’s mainstays. As a scholar, he has won honours every year. Immediately en- tering the swing of things, he played Varsity football and Basketball with sidelines in Drama and the Glee Club. The pursuit of a teaching career will take Bill to UBC follow- ing graduation. DAVID R. NIGHTENGALE Dave, a boarder from Port Alberni, enrolled in V.C. in September, 1950. Since then, he has become one of our best Cheerleaders besides taking an active part in the newly-formed Students’ Council. Alter school, Dave intends to study Business. JOHN P. NIGHTINGALE One of first boarders, Jack, Dave’s brother, has contributed much in such activities as: Intramurals, Drama and the Pep Club. Business Admin- istration is the field Jack has chosen to be his career.
