D E D CATION In this, her coronation YEAR, WE RENEW OUR PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO OUR NEWLY CROWNED QUEEN. WE PRAY THAT GOD WILL GRANT TO HER THE GRACE OF A LONG AND PROS- PEROUS REIGN. DURING THESE TROUBLED TIMES, THE “RADIANT QUEEN”— AS HER SUBJECTS WOULD HAVE IT— MAY WELL SERVE AS A SHINING EXAMPLE TO US ALL. Her Majesty, then Princess Elizabeth, enters the Canadian Institute for the Blind ac- companied by Mayor Fred Hume.

Our hands are most expressive of our actions. It is with them that we pray, study, work and play. The Scriptures are filled with references to the work of God and man’s hands. Truly, “All living things that breathe, all the spirits of all mankind lie in the hollow of God’s Hand”. The hands of God “fashioned the heav- ens, His fingers measured the span of the earth”. And at every moment God is “ready to open His hands and fill with blessing all that fives”. On our part, we use our hands as instruments of our sanctifica- tion. We lift our hands in prayer, soil them in labour and utilize them at play. It is because we five in God’s hands and strive for eternal fife with our hands that we have chosen hands to express our varied activities at school. We sincerely hope that the inter- ests of God and the school have been served in the book you now hold in your hands.
