Sophomores look down from lofty heights These four people led the sophomore class: Paul Laemmle, Allan Runser, Nancy Rager, and Ann Poling. SOPHOMORES Our sophomore year was a big surprise to us. All at once, it seemed as though we had so much more responsibility 5 but we quickly dived right in. At the head of our class, we placed Paul Laemmle, president. We elected Rick Counsellor, Sue Prior, Bill Stanley, Jane Weeks, Karen Wierwille, and Paul Laemmle to represent us on the Student Council. Allan Runser did a very efficient job as the chief of the Freshman-Sophomore Hi-Y. The reins were given to Sue Prior as the competent president of the Jr. Y-Teens. We are really proud of the ten football players and the eight reserve and one varsity basketball players. Barb Germann, Joy Smith, fvarsityj and Karen Bagley freservel did a wonderful job cheering for the Cougars. We had twenty-eight members in A Cappella choir and thirty-one members working in band. Sharon Boyd made a very good majorette. Karen Wierwille was the Sophomore girl chosen to be attendant to the Homecoming Queen. Even though, at one time or another, each one of the 171 students has had trouble focusing his eyes during classes, each one can truthfully admit that it has been a worthwhile and very enjoyable experience being part of the Sophomore class of '58.
