Student Government Student Council members are the four class presidents and representatives elected by each class. The purpose of the Student Council is to create and maintain a good school spirit and to act as the organization that interprets the general thinking and feeling of the student body. The mem- bers are divided into five squads: social, Finance, courtesy, conduct, and assembly. Their activities include the Student Loan Plan, hall monitors, honor study hall, and the financ- ing of the telephone for student use. They sponsored Dad's night during the football and basketball seasons, the an- nual 'LTurkey Wobble dance, and an evening of cleaning the walls of our school. Jean Hirn and Don Black were the Council's representatives sent to the State Student Council Conference at Oxford, Ohio. The Council held a safety court and tried a traflic case involving a Van Wert student. The court proved its integrity with a wise decision and a just sentence. A student government is often difficult to establish but our Student Council has proved to be a suc- cessful one. Top: Student Council members take the lead in keeping our school clean and neat.
