Graduation The last few weeks of school were busy ones for seniors as they crammed their days with classes and their evenings with social affairs. Lights burned late as they struggled with senior projects and other postponed obligations. Prom, Elk's dance, and house parties brought laughter and tears into the excitement of last times. Showing their calm dignity, the seniors filed sedately into the stadium for Baccalaureate services. Two days of suspense concluded happily, for Commencement exercises were also held outside. The Class of 1957 processed for the last time, Mixed feelings of nostalgia and anticipation went with the seniors as they traveled the path across the plat- form to receive their diplomas. Taking the inspiring advice of the speaker to heart and carrying their scarlet and grey bound diplomas, the new graduates left the stadium remembering the words of the choir, Ours Is the World.
