From Jos It is now evident that dogs do not like fruit. . . . Recently the Woodruff's dog, Pudgy, got in the station wagon and ate Howard l.eneker's lunch-all but his orange. If we had two more coaches, they could have a team all their own . . . and possibly a victory on the VHS football schedule. The journalists will know better from now on than to invite the football players to their suppers . . . Four pounds of spaghetti were devoured in about five minutes .... When the lollypops were served, Prof., alias Coach, alias Mr. Woodruff, remarked: This is the first time I ever had a cough drop on a stick. It seems Mr. Schnell hasn't made Admiral yet. . . . During a test of throwing a rope and pulled, he came near to hitting the admiral .... We also won- der how he spent his six hours in the gallep for wiping his shoe on his pants. What was Editor Hemenway trying to do Friday night-scare somebody? . . . He came through the window dressed as a ghost, and scared himself . . . He fell and thought he broke his leg . . . More fun and no people killed. According to the freshmen, Helen Gosholok spends most of her time in social studies class winking at Mr. Price . . . quite social, but where do the studies come in? Has anyone a spare pocket with a zipper that they can donate to Ray Baynard so he can keep Miller's ad from getting lost? . . . He had to stop at the garage to get another copy again last week. Mr. Duncombe's cow knows there is a feed short- age and has found a solution .... Last week it got into Prof Woodruff's chicken coop and was found eating the chicken feed .... You don't suppose he'll h by Gosh lay any eggs do you? . . . We must inquire from our ag teacher, Professor Farnsworth. It seems that Aunt Catharine's house is quite over- run by mice .... The teachers living there are now becoming expert hunters .... Last week they caught mice as fast as they could empty the traps. Why is it that Miss Bumstead can't concentrate on school work while the odor of baked beans from the cafeteria permeates the air? . . . If she were a man we'd think it brought to mind the thought of army life. Golly! If any more of our faculty get married, we will be swamped trying to get the new names straightened out . . . Mrs. Williams seems to be pretty well memorized now, but Mrs. Render is still Miss Stewart to the majority of students. Yes, we actually saw Burt Ackerman joining in the dancing games at the Ostrander party last Friday night . . . and enjoying himself, too . . . By the way. has Ward VanDeusen recovered from the beating Har- old Harter gave him in the Swat Hitler game staged bv the men? Did Jimmy Walrath wear his flashy suit coat and pants on account of the pictures being taken last Fri- day, or did he get home from the banquet Thursday night just in time to get on the bus? . . . Was Bill Stark catching flies in his mouth when the HIGH- LIGHTS picture was taken? It seems that some of our faculty members don't realize there is a fuel shortage. . . . When driving some of the teachers to the dinner meeting at East Springfield, Mr. Farnsworth journeyed first to Cherry Valley. thinking the meeting as at that place.
