Curtis, principal, has repeatedly demonstrated his capability by carryingout his duties extremely well during his first year as administrator of Van Horn. He was not completely unfamiliar with our school for he served as' its Vice-principal from 1955 'until 1959. 1 Miss Helen Iohnson, counselor, has guided Van Horn students through their scholastic and personal problems since 1955. Her advice has benefited hundreds of stu- dents in the past eight years. This year Miss Iohnson was also co-sponsor of the Senior Class. Mr. I-'red Heine, vice-principal, has now completed tive years of scheduling classes, enrolling students, and managing disciplinary problems at Van Horn. He has proved his ability to handle these responsibilities. 'XXXL ' as x ' 117 Mr. Harry L. Cloverdyke. counselor, became Van Hom's third student adviser in February. 1962 after teaching biology and coaching athletic teams for six years. This year he supervised the student testing program and the Iunior Class. Mr. Ben King. counselor. received his title three years after teaching common leamings at Van Hom. I-le must continually cope with the student problems of financial aid, employment. and college. which challenge his abilities every day.
