.-. it MAN OF P RPOSE Our principal, Mr. William W. Windon, looks upon each student as an individual. I-Ie takes time to help each one realize and develop himself. It is in' this endeavor, as in all other areas under his guidance, that Mr. Windon is a successful and respected principal. Mr. Windon came to Van High School in 1964. Since that time his duties have grown to include plan- ning the curriculum, and representing the school in different organizations. We appreciate all the work he has done and the co-operation he has given our annual staff. :I ..:-ns IFIFIU1 11 WILLIAM W. WINDON, JR. , Principal 1 MAN OF ACTIO ' Much of the new equipment added to our school from 1965- 67 has been the result of our principal taking advantage of the money made available under the Federal Elementary and Second- ary Educational Act and the Vo- cational Act of 1963. The much needed equip- ment includes a rnimeograph, dictating and transcribing equip- ment, filmstrip and 16 mm sound projectors, science equipment, library books, and typewriters. 4 7

She has proven herself very efficient in the past years and has given invaluable service to our school At the present, Nickie's husband, Robert Gray, is stationed in Okinawa and each day she anxiously awaits mail call. Recently he sent several gifts, which she treasures, such as a china dinner service and silver ware, But the mail call Charlotte would prefer above all else is for Uncle Sam to return her soldier boy safe and sound. 6 ,gig o -Q ' Mr. Holstein, one of Van's outstanding facult members, teaches class in business mathematics in addition to his duties school counselor, We express our grati- tude to a man who is ou counselor, teacher, and friend. THIRTY YEARS CONTRIBUTED TO EDUCATION To a man of great experience who has given thirty years of service to education in the Boone County Schools. He has taught twenty-nine years at Van High School and was principal at Wharton Junior High for one year. Mr. Bradley, a native of Boone County, graduated from Scott High School, West Virginia University with an A. B. Degree and from Marshall University with an M. A., Degree. He enjoys teaching as an instructor in our Commercial Department and has gained a reputation of par excellence in training students in secretarial and business courses. His many interests, other than teaching, include hunt- ing and fishing, working in his well equipped workshop and enjoying the out-of-doors on his recently acquired farm near Lory, Boone County.
